The term 'stress' is frequently used in companies, schools, universities, associations and at home. There is a wealth of literature on the subject. Stress management courses are offered, as are medical check-ups. Yet stress continues to increase, and is accompanied by a drop in performance, with the enormous costs that this entails.

As such, minimal stress is highly desirable, even vital, to mobilise the body in the face of aggression. It also acts as a stimulus, challenging the individual to achieve his or her goals.
